**ALERT**
On Sunday, April 3rd some Internet Banking Customers received a message after putting in their user name and pushing the "validation" button. This message indicated that their account had been locked and they should provide the last 4 digits of their social security number and an account number to un-lock it. We have since learned that this procedure is part of the upgrade by the vendor to our Internet Banking and Bill Payment product. They inadvertently applied this function to all existing accounts during the upgrade process. As of 3:10 that afternoon this was corrected. Going forward this will only come up if you try to log on and are unsuccessful 3 times in a row and the system locks you out. The new system allows you to un-lock yourself. It will first ask you for last 4 of your social security number and at least one account number associated with your internet banking. You will then be sent an e-mail to the address on record and you will be prompted to open another window and insert the information on the e-mail to un-lock your account. Thus, if hackers were to attempt to get into your accounts, it would require that they know 4 pieces of information that only you should know. You can still call us to assist you in unlocking your account if you have problems with this procedure. |
